Absolutely, it is designed to be cut into shorter lengths to fit your needs but there are certain things you need to consider. You need to make sure you are using the right tools, and are giving yourself enough bracket for the project at hand.
Foremost, the thing to keep in mind is that the bracket is designed to function when attached to at least 2 studs. Since most studs in North America are around 16" on centre, you'll want to leave yourself with at least 18" or so of bracket at a minumum - this extra length is because of the 16" center stud problem. Remember that any floating shelf is only as strong as it's connection to the wall, and to always enable yourself to hit as many studs as possible when looking for the highest strength and performance of your Hovr system.
