How much weight can the Hovr Slim Hold?

First and foremost, it's important to remember that the Hovr Slim is not built prioritizing strength - we created the Hovr Slim as an answer to customers who needed something thinner that would work for shelves as thin as 1.5". If you are looking to load a lot of weight on a shelf, we recommend you use a thicker shelf and opt for the Hovr Classic or our Custom Steel Bracket.

With that being said, we have done some testing with the Hovr Slim to get an idea of what the maximum you should be loading on a Slim-mounted shelf. As a general rule, the maximum you want to put on a shelf mounted with the Slim is 100 lbs at 8" depth, with the weight centered between the back and front of the shelf (no loading everything on the front edge and compounding that leverage). For each 2" deep than 8" that shelf is, you will need to reduce that max loading by 25 lbs, and for each 2" shallower the shelf is, you can increase by 25 lbs. Note that we recommend this limit regardless of shelf length and stud count for now. Some examples below:

4" deep shelf: 150 lbs.
6" deep shelf: 125 lbs.
8" deep shelf: 100 lbs.
10" deep shelf: 75 lbs.
12" deep shelf: 50 lbs.
