When you have wooden studs, all you need is:
- An impact driver
- A level
- A tape measure
- A stud finder
- A 3/16 drill bit to make the top and bottom holes on the male bracket where the studs are located
- In 2 studs, at least four 2 ½” long pan head #8 wood screws using the top and bottom holes of the male bracket.
In drywall, we recommend EZ Load Drywall Anchors (75 lb capacity or higher). Note that these can only be used in the upper dyeline hole, since the heads of these anchors are so large that they could interfere with each other if both the top, AND bottom holes are used for them. Regarding the screws to use in conjunction with the EZ Load anchors, we always recommend a #8 metal pan head metal screw (Phillips drive at 1 ¼ inch length) as seen below.
For galvanized steel studs, please use 1Shot steel stud anchors.
In concrete, we recommend the Tapcon (blue), epoxy in dowels, or a Hilti solution.
In brick, be sure to always drill into the grout line, never the brick itself, which will crumble and fail.
