The Steel Bracket - Frequently Asked Questions

It's no secret that our aluminum Hovr Bracket is extremely strong. That being said, sometimes a project needs even more strength (or different dimensions): that's why we also offer our Steel Hovr Bracket Option. If you have a particularly heavy duty project or just want to learn a little more about this option, look no further. You can find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about the Steel Bracket below:

What are the dimensions of the Steel Hovr Bracket?

Each steel bracket is custom ordered and made. The smallest one is 2 ½” tall , then they go up in size in ½” increments all the way up to 7” tall. They are all 7/8” to 1” deep and usually come at 48 inches in length.

The depth variation (7/8” – 1”) is because they are man /machine bent and can vary in size by up to 1/8 of an inch. This is why we do not recommend working on the wood until you have it in hand. Even the 2 ½” size bracket may be off by up to 1/8 of an inch.

How much does the Steel Hovr Bracket cost?

Set up for production of these is a large factor. The cheapest is $225 for the first bracket (including set up cost), then $130 for each additional bracket after that (that is for a 48-inch length). For each ½” taller you increase the bracket size, add 15% for each length.

If a custom length is required rather than the standard 48-inch length, it is $280 for set up cost and the first bracket, then $150 each for additional 60-inch length for example. For each ½” increment increase add 15% to this cost.

For a custom length order of 96 inches (the longest we can do) the cost is $300 for the first one (including set up cost) and then $190 for each additional length after that. Again, for each ½” increment, add 15%.

If you would like holes custom drilled, we provide that service at a rate of $50 an hour. (it typically takes one [1] hour for a 46-inch, 1 ½ hours for a 60-inch, and two [2] hours for a 96-inch long bracket)

Also note that the steel bracket typically costs more to ship due to the increased weight and size compared to the aluminum bracket. (Usually starts at $100 or more). It typically takes approximately two (2) weeks for delivery between custom-making the bracket and shipping time.

Where do I go / who do I talk to to order the Steel Hovr Bracket?

Due to the high weights these are typically used to hold up, it is critical that we are involved in discussion and planning regarding the safety of these brackets. If these come undone or are installed incorrectly, they can do real damage.

Each application is different and we can give them our best advice but will not take any responsibility.

The best way to order these is by sending an email detailing your intended project to Hovr Owner and Product Engineer Peter Schmid - peter@hovrsolutions.com - with as much background information as possible. Pictures are also welcome if you have them on hand.
